How wonderful it is to be in a church that still loves the preaching and teaching of the Word of God!  Toward the end of the last century many church leaders across the country stated that we need a new way of doing church.  The demand was for the church to adopt to the culture of our day rather then the church strive to bring culture in line with the Word of God.  As a result, many churches began to use gimmicks, worldly appeal, and the “seeker sensitive movement” began.  The idea is to offend none, even if you have to change the name of your church and become appealing to the flesh.  This has brought us the “Emergent Church” of today.
The emergent church of today seeks only to be mystical and has no concern for doctrine and sound biblical teaching.  Scripture no longer becomes authority but rather whatever your experience is.  Hell and sin is down played in order that no one is offended or discouraged.  A solid gospel message would be too dogmatic to the emergent church.  Prophecy would be considered strictly allegorical and never to be taken literal.  The sad commentary is that many evangelicals are promoting this as the way it should be today.
I only pastor one church, but it is a great church because our church is built on Christ and the Word of God.  Our church must not adopt to culture but to strive to change culture.  Someone once said, “The church did the most for the world when it was the least like the world.”  In the battle for truth, we will stand on the unchanging Word of God.  Thank you for standing with me when our stand must be taken.  The people of the world want to know the truth from God and see a strong loving stand for Him.
     May God bless you today.
