Restoration After Ziklag            1 Samuel 30:16-31
When he had brought him down-The Egyptian Knew The Course
Spread abroad upon all the earth-Herds of Animals Need Room
Eating and drinking, and dancing-Keeping A Festival
Twilight even unto the evening of the next day-Fought Upon Arrival & All the Next Day
Escaped…four hundred young men-Amalekites Almost Wiped Out As A People
Recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away-Limited to People & Possessions
             They drave before-David’s Own Men
And said-His Men Said This is David’s spoil
He saluted them-Inquired About Their Welfare
Wicked men…that went with David-Mixed Multitude
Not give them ought of the spoil-No Battle, No Booty
Ye shall not do so, my brethren-No Way Brother
Battle = tarrieth by the stuff-One For All, All For One
This Policy Was Based on Three Foundational Truths:
LORD hath given us-Sacred Gift, Not Secular Gain (1 Sam 17:47)
Preserved us, and delivered the company-More Important Gifts Than Material Gain (Mark 8:36)
             Part Alike-Equality (1 Cor 3:6 & Matt 6:4)
He made it a statute-A Permanent Practice (Num 31:27)
             Behold a present-Means A Blessing
The spoil of the enemies of the LORD-Did Not Say the Amalekites
These Words Put David’s Military Exploits in the Category of A Crusade Not A Conquest
Three Observations of Where the Gifts Were Sent:
To God’s Chosen People & Those Who Befriended Them
To The Levites For A Tithe
To The Towns of David’s Heroes  (1 Chron 11:26-47)
